My Geek Confessions #131 – 11/14/2014

Welcome to our episode for November 14, 2014!

It’s a quieter week so we have a shorter episode but with plenty of great info. We review Big Hero 6, The Bourne series returns with Matt Damon, Hasbro is in talks to by Dreamworks Animation, and Sony possibly wants an Aunt May prequel. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi return for a new Evil Dead TV series and Randy Jackson leaves American Idol finally.

Plus in Talk Nerdy to Me, there’s John Oliver uses a Salmon canon in the best way possible, and an Epic Rap Battle between the Ghostbusters and the Mythbusters.

It’s a video heavy episode, so we apologize in advance.

“My Geek Confessions – Watching Bad Movies, So You Don’t Have To!”

  • If you’re a fan of Divergent then you might enjoy this trailer for Insurgent. If you aren’t (like me) then this trailer means nothing and looks super weird.
  • When Marvel rolls out trailers, they roll out trailers. Here’s yet another extended Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer with more creepy Ultron quoting Pinocchio.
  • I wanted to see this already, but here is a new Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb Trailer which makes it look even better. There’s even a cameo from Dick Van Dyke in this movie. I’m sold!
  • Christoph Waltz does a “German” (ie sad) version of the Sesame Street theme for Jimmy Kimmel.
  • Last Week Tonight with John Oliver ends their season on HBO with one of the greatest segments ever. Behold the Salmon Cannon!
  • Epic Rap Battles of History is back for a new season with Ghostbusters vs Mythbusters! (I vote that Ghostbusters win.)
  • Gotham Begins is a brilliant parody trailer that highlights everything bad about Gotham and features the voice from Honest Trailers.
  • AKIBA STEALTH is a promotional video from Assassin’s Creed in Japan, but I would totally love to see a game like this. Get on bringing Assassin’s Creed to Asian countries!
