My Geek Confessions #92 – 02/07/2014

Cover Art for My Geek Confessions

Welcome to our episode for February 07, 2014!

Sadly this week, the curse struck hard and Phillip Seymour Hoffman passed away this week. A LEGO movie sequel is already on the way, we have new trailers for Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Jay Leno says his second ‘Tonight Show’ farewell.

In Talk Nerdy to Me, DC messes it up again by casting Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Studio Ghibli is doing an anime series, and Adult Swim is going to expand an hour.

Check out our coverage of Super Bowl commercials.

“My Geek Confessions – Watching Bad Movies, So You Don’t Have To!”

Out of all the Super Bowl commercials, the “America the Beautiful” Coca-Cola  has been one of the most controversial because of the other languages singing the song (kind of stupid reason). But someone took it in a better direction and decided to replace it with other nerdier languages. Definitely an improvement I think.

During the Super Bowl there were commercials for complete trailers online. It was kind of cheap move, so I didn’t include the commercials but below are two real trailers for both Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: Winter Soldier. First up is the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer. I will say this one does look better then the short commercial that actually aired during the Super Bowl. But I still have my doubts about the movie.

The new Captain America: Winter Soldier trailer did not disappoint however, and even looks better than I thought before thanks to some of the new scenes.

Here is the Music Video to the new Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth-Life ending. Catchy tune with some sweet dance moves, but Mamo has a bad hair cut and the video is dark and isn’t as engaging as some other videos (though, don’t tell the Mamo fangirls I said that!). Or as Krista has said before, Thug Life Mamo.

While the second Attack on Titan opening isn’t quite as good as the first, we have to say that this fan opening is amazing. It’s a mashup of the Attack on Titan opening with some hand drawn animation for Super Smash Bros. that works fantastically.
