New Releases for December 22, 2015 – Pan, Dragon Blade

DVD/Blu-Ray

Movies

Pan

Pan – Set as a prequel to Peter Pan, Pan is set as the “untold story” of Peter Pan and how he got to Neverland. A 12-year-old Peter is kidnapped from a London orphanage. Finding that Neverland is controlled by the evil Blackbeard, Peter befriends James Hook (who of course will become Captain Hook so this makes things a little more depressing) and Tiger Lily to overthrow Blackbeard’s rule and become “Peter Pan.” Stars Hugh Jackman, Cara Delevingne, Rooney Mara, Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund, and Amanda Seyfried. Rated PG.

Dragon Blade

Dragon Blade – The Chinese made movie with Jackie Chan, Adrian Brody, and John Cusack that we talked about last year where a Chinese general teams up with a defecting Roman general with his legion and team up to stop a Roman army from taking over the Silk Road. Rated R.

War Room

War Room – Basically a family that looks like its perfect has struggles and prays to have things go better. Somehow this made $72 million. Rated PG.

TV

The Wiz Live!

The Wiz Live! – The Live version of the Wiz produced by NBC that to the surprise of everyone was actually really good! I guess third time’s the charm and actually using people who know what they are doing and being closer to a Broadway version does the trick. Not Rated.

Dominion: Season 2

Dominion: Season 2 – The second season of the SyFy channel series that was the continuation of the terrible movie Legion that has the survivors of humanity create settlements in the ruins of Las Vegas that was then cancelled after this second season. Not Rated.

Defiance: Season 3

Defiance: Season 3 – The SyFy original series that was developed along with an MMORPG to tie into the series about future St. Louis where humans and aliens co-exist. But this series has been canceled after season 3. Not Rated.
