Movies

Noah (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD)

Noah – Noah is somewhat based on the story of Noah from the Old Testament. Apparently there were six different cuts of the movie that they tried and then finally just went with the director’s version. The problem is that the trailer makes it seem like a lot of extra stuff that happens in the movie, but all the summaries that I can see basically give a one sentence summary of the story of the bible. So you might be on your own other than Noah is called of God to save animals and his family before a great flood comes and wipes out the wicked from the earth. Stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone, Nick Nolte, Kevin Durand, and Frank Langella. Rated PG-13.

The Other Woman [Blu-ray]

The Other Woman – This has to be one of the fastest turn arounds on a movie that I’ve seen since this came out just in the end of April. Carly finds out that the man she’s been dating is actually married then she accidentally meets up and becomes friends with his wife, Kate. They decide to get revenge on the cheating husband and bring a third woman he was cheating on into the fold and set him up to catch him in the act for the ultimate revenge. Stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Kinney. Rated PG-13.

Baby Genius & The Treasures of Egypt

Baby Geniuses & The Treasures of Egypt – While I didn’t think that the Baby Geniuses movies did that well, and I thought it was weird this was starting Jon Voight for a direct to video movie but apparently a TV series was developed but scrapped. So instead of a whole season, they are combining episodes into movies being put out once a year. Not Rated.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: XXX

Mystery Science Theater 3000: XXX – The next set of MST3K finally out, now up to 30 and still in Joel episodes, though it doesn’t seem that it’s all in order. Not Rated.

Teen Titans Go: Couch Crusaders Season 1 – Part 2 – The second half of season one of Teen Titans Go, with 26 episodes on two discs. The episodes are about 15 minutes long so it’s more like 13 episodes but still not bad. Not Rated.

Monster Rancher: Complete Season 2 & Monster Rancher: Complete Season 3 – Finally the second and third part of the Monster Rancher anime is finally available after its original airing. Only the first part had been available on video previously but now the entire series is available. Not Rated.

Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash [Blu-ray]

Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash – Several of the girls at Hanzo Academy are secretly training to be ninjas, but are called into action when their secret scroll gets stolen by a rival ninja clan. This Funimation dubbed series is based on a series of video games and manga about fighting female ninja. Unfortunately it looks like there was a printing error that originally said that the set included the OVAs, however Funimation only has the license for the first 12 episodes. Not Rated.

Vampire Knight: The Complete Collection

Vampire Knight: The Complete Collection – The entire run of Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty anime series together in a reasonably priced set from Viz. Not Rated.
